Previous Public Outreach 2017-2018

Public outreach for the potential improvements on 12th Avenue occurred in November 2017 and June 2018, when community and business open house meetings were held.

The business community and the public was invited to a June 25, 2018 and June 26, 2018 open houses at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish Hall. Those meetings provided information about the three 12th Avenue improvement concept scenarios, and solicited comments and input to each of the improvement concept scenarios.

The City of Tucson held a public information meeting June 13, 2019 at the El Pueblo Senior Center to share information about proposed improvements to South 12th Avenue between Irvington and Drexel Roads and to receive input from residents and business operators.

BACKGROUND

The public was invited to attend a November 4, 2017 workshop held in conjunction with a La Visión del Pueblo Visioning Event held at the S.T.A.R. Academic Center. The business community was invited to a November 9, 2017 open house at the El Pueblo Center. Those meetings provided information about existing conditions of 12th Avenue and solicited information about how area residents and merchants experience the avenue.
